BecomeTen FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about BecomeTen — the rating, pricing, privacy and what can genuinely change.

A dark reading desk with an open notebook and a phone, where the questions about the rating get answered

What is BecomeTen?

BecomeTen is an AI tool that turns a face photo into a rating: an overall score, a tier, a breakdown of 30+ traits across harmony, eye area, jaw, skin and hair — and an honest estimate of how far you can get without surgery. Plus a plan to close that gap and an illustrative AI potential simulation.

Is the score objective?

No. It is an AI estimate from a single 2D photo against a fixed rubric — a structured opinion, not a measurement. That is why we never state degrees or millimetres for structural traits: you cannot read them off a photo. The exact rules are on the Methodology page.

Why is my score lower than I expected?

Calibration is deliberately strict — an average, healthy, groomed person should land around 50–60, not 75+. A rating that tells everyone they are above average carries no information. The number is not a statement about your worth as a person.

What is potential, and why is it so low?

Potential is what is reachable without surgery. Bone geometry does not change, so the ceiling on harmony is only +6 points while skin is +25. That ceiling is enforced in code, not requested in the prompt — we would rather give you a smaller true number than a large impossible one.

Will mewing change my jaw?

There is no good clinical evidence for it in adults. We may mention it, but we always label it as having no studies. Head and neck posture genuinely changes how a jaw reads — and for most people the biggest lever on the lower third is body composition.

Do you recommend surgery or "bone smashing"?

No, and never. We do not recommend surgery at any tier. "Bone smashing", striking the mandible and similar forum advice is explicitly forbidden in the prompt — damaging tissue is not remodelling it, and it is dangerous.

Is this medical advice?

No. BecomeTen is an educational and informational tool and does not replace a doctor. Always consult a licensed professional before any treatment or medication.

Where do the cited studies come from?

From a curated library of verified publications — the AI may cite exclusively from it, so a fabricated reference can never reach you. If no study supports a step, it is labeled "no studies". The full list is on the Methodology page.

What if my photo is bad (light, angle, sharpness)?

The rating says so: with poor capture quality we mark the result as informational, damp over-time comparisons and suggest a new shot. Angle lies the most — a tilted-down chin artificially sharpens the jaw.

How much does it cost?

Your score and tier are free. A full rating for one scan is a one-time €6.99. BecomeTen PRO is €9.99 per month or €59.99 per year and includes 20 scans a month (at most 3 a day), each with its potential photo, plus progress tracking.

What do I get after paying?

Every trait broken down with a band, an explanation for each strength and weak point, a plan across five areas (skin, hair, grooming, lifestyle, treatments) with evidence levels, and your AI potential photo.

How do I cancel PRO?

Any time, via Manage subscription in your account — it opens the secure Stripe portal. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Are the AI potential images real?

They are not a prediction of results. They are illustrative and deliberately do not change bone geometry — they may not narrow a nose, change canthal tilt or redraw a jaw. They change only what genuinely changes: skin, hair, grooming and moderately facial fat.

Do you compare me to other users?

No. No leaderboard, no comparison against other people, no celebrity comparisons. The score rates only what is in your photo.

What happens to my photo?

In free mode the photo is processed only during the rating and is not stored. For a paid scan it is stored encrypted in the EU. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Is AI trained on my photos?

No. We never use your photos to train any models. The rating runs on AI models via API (Anthropic, OpenAI), whose terms exclude training on API data by default.

Can I get a refund?

For a one-time unlock this is digital content delivered immediately — at payment you consent to performance starting and to losing the 14-day right of withdrawal. See the Right of withdrawal document for details.

How do I sign in?

By email (we send a one-time sign-in code) or with your Google account.

Can I change my email address?

Self-service email change isn't available yet — your account is tied to the address you sign in with. Write to hello@becometen.com and we'll sort it out manually.

Do I have to be 18?

Yes. A face photo is biometric data, and appearance rating is not appropriate for minors. The processing consent includes an age confirmation.

Which languages does BecomeTen support?

English only, for now. Every rating, plan and email is written in English; the photo and the questionnaire work the same wherever you are.

What is a re-scan and progress?

After 6–8 weeks you can take a new scan and BecomeTen compares it with the previous one. One score is a snapshot; a series of scores is a trend — and the trend is the only thing that tells you whether what you are doing works.

What is a PSL rating, and how does the score map to it?

PSL is the 1–8 scale the looksmaxxing forums use — it comes from forum culture, not from a validated instrument, and an average person sits near 4. BecomeTen rates out of 100 because a 0–100 scale can carry per-trait detail, and shows the PSL equivalent next to it so the number means something in the vocabulary you already use: 50/100 is about PSL 4, 62 is about 5, 75 is about 6. Neither scale is objective — both are a structured opinion about how a face reads.

Is this a looksmaxxing app?

It is the measurement half of one. BecomeTen tells you where you stand, which traits cost you points, and how much of that is reachable without surgery — then gives a plan whose every step cites a real paper or is openly labelled as having no evidence. It will not sell you bone smashing, mewing miracles or anything that damages tissue.
