Bone smashing
Bone smashing is a forum practice of striking the facial bones, usually the jaw or cheekbones, in the belief that repeated impact makes them remodel thicker or more forward. There is no evidence it does. Impact damages skin, nerves and bone; it does not sculpt them. BecomeTen's prompt explicitly forbids recommending it.
Also called: bonesmashing, bone smash
What is bone smashing?
The idea circulated on looksmaxxing forums: hit the bone, let it heal, and it will come back stronger and more prominent. It borrows the language of Wolff's law, the observation that living bone adapts its internal structure to sustained load over time, and stretches that into a claim about blunt trauma producing a different face.
Wolff's law describes gradual, internal adaptation of the kind seen in athletes' bones. It says nothing about impact. Damage is not load: a bruise, a fracture or a haematoma heals toward what was there before; it does not add projection.
Is there any evidence it works?
No. There are no trials and no imaging studies showing that striking the face changes its bone structure in a desirable way. The before-and-after photos that circulate are explained by swelling, angle, lighting, weight change and time.
Why does BecomeTen refuse it?
Two reasons, both written into the methodology. The product never recommends anything that damages tissue, and the model's prompt names bone smashing specifically as forbidden. And every structural trait in the report is tagged structural precisely so that nobody is sold a routine to change bone.

What actually changes how the jaw and cheekbones read?
Adult bone does not move without surgery, and BecomeTen does not recommend surgery. What moves is the tissue over it, and that is where every point of the jaw and chin potential ceiling comes from.
- Body fat. The single largest lever on the lower third; see body fat and the jawline.
- Posture. A level head and a neutral neck separate the jaw from the neck; a dropped chin fakes definition and is graded as a capture issue.
- Grooming. A beard shaped along the jaw border, and hair that frames rather than covers the cheek.
- Skin and sleep. Even skin catches light on the cheekbone; a rested face has fewer puffiness cues.
Questions
Is the swelling after bone smashing a sign it is working?
No. Swelling is inflammation from injury, and it resolves over days. It can make an area look fuller in a photo for a while, which is where most of the convincing before-and-after pictures come from. Once it settles the bone is where it was, and the skin, nerves and joint may not be.
Is bone smashing the same as mewing?
No. Mewing is a tongue-posture habit with no good trials in adults; it is unsupported but not an injury. Bone smashing is deliberate blunt trauma. BecomeTen labels the first as having no studies and refuses the second outright, and neither one moves adult bone.
If bone adapts to load, why would impact not work?
Because adaptation to load is a slow internal response to repeated, sustained stress, and what it produces is density, not shape. Impact is a different event: it breaks tissue, triggers inflammation and heals back toward the original form. Nothing in the process adds projection or length.
