How attractive am I on a scale of 1 to 10?
Statistically, you are most likely between a 4 and a 6, where most adults sit on an honest scale. To place yourself more precisely, you need a good photo and a rater with a stated average. Online numbers tend to run a point or two high, so a 7 from a stranger often means a 5 said kindly.

Explore proportionsWhere most people land
Ratings of real faces spread out like most human traits: a wide middle and thin ends. On a fair 1–10 scale, most people are a 4, 5 or 6, a 7 is clearly above average, and 8 and above are rare. The middle is a 5. The low end is short in practice too, because few adult faces are rated there in good faith; a very low result is more often a bad photo than a bad face. What is average attractiveness explains why the middle is a 5 and not a 7.
How to get your number
- Take a fair photo: soft light from the front, phone at eye level, arm's length or further, neutral expression, hair off the forehead, no filter.
- Use a rater with a stated average and a fixed scale. A friend's guess or a chatbot reply has neither; see does ChatGPT rate everyone an 8.
- Convert to the ten-point scale with a table rather than dividing by ten, because the scales are not shaped the same way.
- Repeat once in the same conditions before trusting a change.

What the number does not tell you
A score is one photo through one rubric. It leaves out expression, voice, movement and the taste of the specific people you care about, and it is not a verdict on your worth. If the number lands badly, leave it for a day before deciding what it means. Its practical value is in the breakdown: which areas pull the total down and whether they are structural or workable. Skin, hair, grooming, body fat and the photo itself can move; bone does not. Can you become more attractive covers that split, and the PSL scale explains the forum version of the same question.
