Fox eyes test
Fox eyes are long, narrow eyes whose outer corners sit clearly higher than the inner corners, under a brow that sits slightly low. This test reads all three from one photo, in your browser, and tells you whether your eyes read as fox, or which type they are closest to instead, with the measurements behind the call.

What are fox eyes?
Fox eyes describe an elongated, almond-to-narrow eye with a strong upward tilt at the outer corner, so the eye seems to sweep up toward the temple. The brow usually sits a little low and runs level or slightly upward. The look became a trend through makeup and through cosmetic lifts that try to create it, but plenty of people have it naturally, and it is common across many ancestries.
Three traits make the look. The first is the canthal tilt, the angle from the inner to the outer corner, which is clearly positive in fox eyes. The second is the opening: the eye is long for its height, so little white shows above or below the iris. The third is the brow, set close enough that the upper lid reads short. Take away the tilt and the same eye reads almond; lower the brow further and it reads hunter.
How to tell if you have fox eyes
Look straight into a mirror at eye level with a relaxed face. Imagine a line from the inner corner of each eye to the outer corner. If the outer end clearly rises, the tilt is there. Then check the opening: if the eye looks long and the lids cover the top and bottom of the iris slightly, the opening is narrow. If both hold and your brows sit fairly close above the lids, you have the fox pattern.
The test does the same from a photo, with numbers. It measures the tilt, the height of the opening against its width, and the gap between lid and brow, compares each with real frontal photos, and names the nearest of six types. Fox needs all three to lean the right way; a strong tilt with an average opening reads siren instead, and the result will say which.
| Type | Tilt | Opening | Brow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fox | Strongly upward | Narrow and long | Slightly low |
| Siren | Upward | Elongated | Average |
| Hunter | Upward | Narrow | Low |
| Almond | Slightly upward | Average | Average |
How to take the photo
- No eyeliner, no filter. Winged liner and beauty filters create exactly the tilt the test measures.
- Relaxed face. A smile narrows the eye and lifts the lower lid, which fakes fox eyes.
- Camera at eye level. A camera above you lifts the corners and fakes the fox tilt; one below turns them down.
- Brows at rest. Raising them opens the eye and removes the look.
Can you get fox eyes?
Not structurally without surgery, and BecomeTen does not recommend surgery. The tilt is set by bone and the ligaments at the outer corner. What creates the look is makeup: liner extended up and out from the outer corner, shadow blended toward the temple, and lashes concentrated at the outer third. Brow shaping that lifts the tail helps. These change how the eye reads, which is all the trend ever was.
Is it more attractive? The research does not rank eye types. It supports averageness, symmetry and skin, and a slightly positive tilt is part of the average eye. Fox eyes are a look, and so is every other type on the eye type test.
Questions
Are fox eyes and almond eyes the same?
No, but they are close. Almond is the average eye: a medium opening and a slight upward tilt. Fox eyes take that shape and push two traits further, a narrower, longer opening and a clearly stronger tilt. Many people sit between the two, and the test names both when they are nearly as close.
What is the difference between fox eyes and hunter eyes?
The brow. Both are narrow and tilted upward, but hunter eyes sit under a low, heavy brow that almost meets the lid, which is what the forums prize in male faces. Fox eyes have a brow at a more ordinary height and the tilt is the main feature. The test reads the brow gap separately to tell them apart.
Is the fox eye lift worth it?
BecomeTen does not recommend cosmetic procedures, and this test cannot judge one. What the test can tell you is whether your eyes already read as fox, in which case makeup alone gets the look, and how far your tilt sits from the average. For most people the trend is a makeup look, not a structural goal.
